1Monitoring and Evaluation Report: routine site visits to grantees throughout the life cycle of the award in which an assessment will be made measuring the impact that the organization’s funding. This is a great opportunity for organizations to further strengthen their relationship with their grantees and determine if the current funding is adequate, if more funding is needed and whether or not the grantee’s programs are effectively serving their mission and intended population, as well as operating within the guidelines of the organization’s policies and procedures.
2Operational Audit Assessment Report: a detailed accounting of the function, procedures, goals and planning of the grantee institution. The intention is to determine the success of the grantee’s use of the organization’s funds and to ensure that there is no material mismanagement. If there are findings, recommendations for improvement will also be provided. Operational audits are the initial step that organizations should take to ensure that their grantees are compliant with the terms and conditions of their awards; it also creates a safe space to openly address and correct any issues of noncompliance before measures are taken towards more aggressive investigative audits.
